I'm Sara.

 

I started Journey in their Shoes with a friend of mine back in January of 2014. Since its beginning, this organization has changed my life.

 

I've met some of the most incredible people from every part of the world. I've been to cities all over the United States conducting interviews, and I've even been able to do some interviews in other countries. 

 

I just want to know people. I was raised in a small town in Maryland and I worked for five years at a small sub shop, through high school and college. I met some of the coolest people coming from the most unlikely places, and I was enamored by their stories and the lessons I could learn by listening to them. 

 

So I started an organization that allows me to share with others what others share with me. Like we said in our mission statement, I believe there's an inherent, unearned value to people, a value that I believe comes from the fact that, whatever God you believe in, we come from the same One. And that, in my opinion, is something worth exploring. Stories are the perfect way to do this.

 

I turned 21 in July of 2014 and as a college graduate, I'm young and ambitious, and I have a lot to learn. I'm so grateful for all of the people who have embarked on this learning journey with me, and I'm so excited to see where it will go from here.
